Avoid buying from Sony's authorized partner Appario Retail Pvt Ltd

Love Sony RX100 series and been using it for the last many years, but buying this M7 was a big and expensive mistake on my part. It's always out of stock with Sony, and sadly, I just couldn't resist when a chance appeared to buy it on Amazon.

Picture Quality: it's decent in good light but not comparable to my previous RX. Worst part is the Low Light Performance: manual mode raw photos are so much more pixelated compared to my older RX.

Zoom: better than the older version, obviously. That said, as soon as you jump from optical zoom to digital zoom, picture becomes unusable. Older version, once again, had better digital zoom quality.

Given everything I have read about RX100 M7 on various reputable photography forums, this SHOULDN'T have been the case.

Moreover, there were scratch marks on the camera lens body. Didn't get a response on why these marks were present on a "brand new camera". Had a few post sales questions. Sony told me to reach out to the Seller Appario. Tried reaching out to them but Amazon couldn't connect me to the seller even after I spent hours conversing to Support over phone, X, and e-mail across various platforms. Amazon wouldn't even allow me to post my review or give Seller feedback 🤷‍♂️ Something is fishy.

I'm a longtime and regular Amazon customer and 99% of my purchases have been satisfactory, but this experience was a lesson.

The way Seller went AWOL right after taking my money, leads me to believe the camera is refurbished and not brand new. Tons of complaint against this once reputable Seller.

Power-packed Compact Camera

I am a budding Photographer who believes in Manual mode. Apart from the awesome Manual controls, this Camera surprized me by its Auto Image Processing performance. I am happy to report that this little gem can be used for Casual Photography as well. This Camera justifies its Premium price tag. Thank you Sony for making such marvels!
